With the ending of the event...
... can someone tell me if you can still get medallions or was that event only? I ask because that actually drew me into the PvP arenas but without that little carrot I'm likely to head back to alliance battles.
Anyone else find them tempting little tidbits?
Thanks in advance!

Event-only, though I wish they were permanent. Fun little diversion, I thought.

I agree! That makes me sad. I like little things like that that can add up over time.
ANet! Bring 'em back! Don't make me send a Dervish spike team after you all!

I kinda expected this to stay after the event, and use the event to introduce it.

I agree - I actually played a few hours in RA on Saturday and felt like it was somewhat productive.
It was actually fun tweaking my N/Mes' build to create a pure warrior/assassin/dervish/paragon/touchranger hate template, as many a dead attacker soon realized. Of course, once the other team figured out what I was doing, I was dead within like 10 seconds, but it was still fun....
Anyone know if the Zaishen agent is still there to redeem the medallions? I sold the last of mine yesterday worrying that he'd disappear...

I certainly hope the supply masters linger for about a week, say.
I'd be ok with Medallions always being there, or maybe given out for different events each week (to focus the community slightly and draw people to different formats). So maybe this week could be Arenas, next week is Alliance Battles, the week after HA, then GvG, etc. (Add or subtract as ANet sees fit.)

Yeah, you can get a profit off of that. selling your flames then buying a sigil. Sigils seem cheap now... even though its alot of money.

I actually wished they stayed. this was a good way to help new players be bale to unlock skills/upgrades/runes and veteran players to fully uax for future chapters to be able to pvp from the get go.

I'd love it if the medallions mechanism remained. I'm nowhere near UAX, and I really don't have the willpower to play even a second character through the PvE campaigns. And trying to accomplish UAX via RA/TA/HA/GvG takes a *LONG* time under the current system ... I've spent about ~200 hours in RA/TA the past couple months, and have only picked up about 150k faction.

Medallions are just a kind of motivation for people to PvP more

Thanks to the medallion system I earned and spent over 120k faction last weekend. I wish they'd stick around, but it seems to me they're a much too easy faction source.

And it worked! Seems more people are trying out more PVP than they usually do.
